Santiago, Chile, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Shaheen, met today with Ambassador Hernán Bascuñán, President of the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile, to explore ways to enhance academic cooperation between the two countries and provide scholarships for Palestine.
Minister Shaheen informed the Academy's President that the State of Palestine is in the process of establishing its own diplomatic institute next year. The Minister expressed keen interest in exchanging expertise and benefiting from Chile's extensive experience in training generations of students and preparing them for diplomatic service immediately upon graduation.
It is worth noting that the Andrés Bello Diplomatic Academy of Chile is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Latin America, having trained hundreds of diplomats across the region, including ambassadors and former foreign ministers who have served for extended periods.
