Gabriele Tosti highlights Joe Gillespie Inivitational with top-15 national performance in triple jump

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - highlighted the Tarleton State Track and Field's first event on campus since 2021 posting the 12^th best triple jump in the nation at the Joe Gillespie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Texans filled the podium of nearly every event notching 17 first-place finishes. The record books took a hit once again, with 14 individuals setting new PRs to rank in the top 10 all-time in program history. Additionally, eight student-athletes posted marks that rank in the top 10 within the WAC outdoor season this year. The Texans swept the podium in six different events across the two days.
Before the Texans' only home event of the season, the 19 graduating seniors were honored and celebrated for their dedication to the program during their time at Tarleton State University.

Men
Tosti highlighted the meet with the second-best PR in program history leaping 15.81 meters. His jump tops the WAC this season by over a half a meter. His impressive performance ranks 12^th in the nation in the event and is the second-highest among student-athletes from non-power five schools.
The Texans swept the triple jump with (14.87m) and (14.64m) rounding out the podium. Davi Torres' fourth-place jump of 14.48 moves him into seventh place all-time in Texan program history. Hall and Flores had already reached third and fifth with their PRs this season. Flores won the long jump, recording his best jump of 6.95 meters to take the crown. Jake Watkins finished second just .07 meters behind with a best leap of 6.88 meters.
won a pair of events on the track on Saturday in both the 100 and 200 meter sprints with times of 10.29 and 20.99, respectively. His 10.29-mark in the 100-meters ranks third in the WAC this season.
Caterrin Cox posted the third best PR time by a Tarleton athlete in program history running the 110-meter hurdles in 14.15 seconds. His mark ranks third in the conference this outdoor season.
Tarleton swept the podium in both the pole vault and 400m hurdles on day two. In the pole vault three freshmen occupied the top three headlined by Jaxson Bray posting a best vault of 4.65 with the less amount of misses. Jacob Thomas was tabbed second with the same best height, but faltered more than Bray. Bray and Thomas tied for eighth in Tarleton history with the 4.65-meter height. Aston Kollatschny finished third with a 4.40-meter best height.
In the 400m hurdles, a trio of sophomores topped the event. Hugo Menin crossed first in 52.79 seconds, the sixth fastest in Tarleton history and the fourth best mark in the WAC this season. and rounded out the top three with times of 55.44 and 56.44, respectively.
In two longest distance races of the day, the Texans found a pair of individuals on each podium. In the 1500 meter race, Jace Poole and earned second and third place finishes with times of 4:00.10 and 4:01.23, respectively. Diego Flores earned the victory in the 5000 meters with a 16:19.70. finished in second place in 17:06.81.

A pair of Texans finished in the top three in javelin with Torres earning second with a 45.5 meter throw and Kyler Lawson finishing third with a 42.15 meter throw.

On Friday, the Texans earned a pair of podium finishes with Mason Hill throwing 15.34 meters for second place in the shot put and taking a best jump of 1.95 meters in the high jump for third overall.
The Texans' won both of their relays on the men's side earning victories in both the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. The 4x400 meter relay squad consisting of Nelvin Appiah, , and ran in 3:24.37 to earn first place. The 4x100 meter relay squad consisting of Appiah, Vincent, Raines and took home first in 40.71 seconds.
Women
The women's team swept the podium in three events, and finished first in seven different events.
Hannah Cade earned the top spot in a pair of events winning both the pole vault and 100 meter hurdles. In the pole vault her best height of 3.85 meters topped the competition. Cade also won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.4 seconds.
earned second in the pole vault at 3.55 meters followed by Chandler Wilson's third place performance with a 3.40 meter best height to give the Texans a sweep of the podium. Wilson climbed the ranks to sixth-best in school history. placed third in 14.79 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.
The Texans swept both the high jump and 400 meters as well as the high jump. Freshman Kassidy Kirkpatrick took home the victory in pole vault with a 1.73 meter best height. Kirkpatrick's mark is the fifth highest in program history and is tied for the third highest in outdoor WAC as well. Rylle Hennig (1.70m) and (1.65m) rounded out the top three. In the 400 meters, sophomore Aaliyah Rifort-Delem won by just over a second posting a time of 56.95 seconds. finished in second in 58.01 and claimed third in 59.33.
took a victory in the 5000 meters in 18:14.34. finished third in 20:32.66. In the other longer distance event, ran the 1500 meters in 4:57.97 with a second-place finish.
In the 800, finished in second in 2:16.23. Schoonover earned her second top three finish of the day with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. Schoonover's 1:04.41-mark was the eighth-fastest among all WAC individuals this outdoor season.
Three Texans finished in the top 4 of the 100-meter sprint with all three posting top 10 all-time Tarleton records. Amadine Estival finished second in 11.69 seconds, tied for the fourth-fastest time in program history. Brya Davis finish just one-one hundredth behind for third place in 11.70, sixth best in program history. Freshman Tori Cameron crossed fourth in 11.94 seconds, the ninth fastest time in Texan history.
Two Texans finished in the top three in the 200-meters once agains separated by .01. Brya Davis crossed third in 24.68 seconds with Estival's 24.69 second finish coming in third.
On the field events, and each finished on the podium of the shot put with throws of 45.01 and 43.86, respectively. A duo of Texans finished second and third in the Javelin. and earned medalist honors with best throws of 33.94 meters and 28.40 meters, respectively. In the long jump, best jump of 5.46 meters finished third overall. earned third with a 11.56 meter jump in the triple jump. Her leap moves her to eighth in program history and ranks 10^th in the WAC outdoors this season.
The Texans won both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. In the 4x100, the Texans took first and third. The first-place squad ran 45.96 which consisted off Davis, Anajah Copeland, and Estival. The third-place team finished in 47.06 which was ran by , Anna Hudson, and . In the 4x400 meter race, the Texans won with a time of 3:55.05 eclipsing second-place Dallas Baptist by over 23 seconds. The group consisted of McFarland, King, Estival and Croxton.
Tarleton State will be back in action next weekend at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, hosted by Baylor at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.
