WASHINGTON, D.C. - Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Jordanian Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef AlHnaity today at the Pentagon.

The chairmen discussed the current security environment in the Middle East, including efforts to increase the timely delivery of humanitarian aid through all possible avenues and international cooperation.

The leaders also discussed opportunities for increased interoperability and reinforced commitment to aligned security interests.

The United States and Jordan share strong military ties as key partners committed to Middle East peace, security and stability.
