Mintra releases interactive scenario-based cybersecurity course

Mintra has released an interactive, scenario-based digital learning tool to develop critical thinking and encourage practical application of cybercrime prevention techniques.

According to latest industry data, up to 85 per cent of cyber-attacks involve human interaction. With increased levels of connectivity, remote working and automation, the risk of falling victim to a cyber-attack has risen significantly in recent years. It is vital for businesses globally to continuously challenge their workforce to adopt safe behaviours online.

Mintra's cybersecurity course plays on the learner's curiosity with a first-person view where the individual can adopt the role of a hacker attempting to gain access to fictional 'Takeko Healthcare' systems or a cybersecurity specialist trying to prevent an attack.

The course utilises creative storytelling as well as situation-based scenarios to immerse the user in the virtual world and promote higher engagement levels. The digital learning tool enables the individual to determine the outcome of a situation and experience the consequences of their decision-making process first-hand. The first-person view and decision-making functionality encourage practical application of new knowledge in real-world scenarios and boost critical thinking.
