Weng Zuliang Meets with Chen Jinghe, President of Zijin

On the afternoon of June 14, Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals met with Chen Jinghe, President of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zijin").

Weng Zuliang said that in recent years, China Minmetals had always undertaken the mission of serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry. China Minmetals took the lead in opening up a whole industry chain channel covering resource acquisition, prospecting & exploration, design & construction, mining & beneficiation, smelting & processing, and trade & logistics. During the process, it created great advantages in integrated industry chain, science technology and financial-industrial integration. As a result, its operating performance repeatedly hit a record high, and its trend of sustained, healthy development was maintained. At present, we face great changes unseen in a century, profound changes in the mineral resource situation all over the world, and complicated, severe market turbulences and external shocks. China Minmetals and Zijin, as international mining companies with great influence on the world, should strengthen communication, make good use of each other's advantages and focus on active actions. They should also continue to expand cooperation in fields including resources acquisition, commodity trade and technical exchange, and promote joint development with practical cooperation featuring mutual complementarity so as to serve the big picture of national economic and social development.

Chen Jinghe pointed out that Zijin was engaged in exploration & development of metals and minerals resources including copper, gold, zinc, lithium, and research, design and application of mining engineering. Zijin, as a practitioner and forerunner of the Belt and Road Initiative, has invested in a number of important mining projects at home and abroad. At present, Zijin is dedicated to shaping itself into a superb international mining group characterized with green and high-tech. It was hoped that both sides would enhance communication, use their advantages and promote business connection to achieve more mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.
