Minister Nishimura Holds Meeting with Ms. Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy

On December 1, 2023, Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with Ms. Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy. They exchanged views on energy cooperation between Japan and the EU, among other topics.
Japan and the EU welcomed the progress of the Japan-EU Green Alliance, particularly the progress in cooperation in the fields of hydrogen and LNG. They also exchanged views on collaboration between Japan and the EU in renewable energy, CCUS/carbon recycling, COP28, and further cooperation in the energy sector between Japan and the EU.
In addition, Minister Nishimura provided an explanation on the status of efforts regarding the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea.
