FRA presents its report on EU funds to the ESF+ Committee

FRA presented findings from its report on 'EU funds: Ensuring compliance with fundamental rights' to a committee of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). It brings together a government representative from all Member States, and representatives of workers' organisations and employers' organisations.

The report deals with the role of fundamental rights in the context of eight important EU funds.

One of these is the ESF+ which is the EU's core instrument for investing in people and supporting the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights. The funds support the EU's employment, social, education and skills policies.

This new fund brings together four funding instruments that were previously separate: the European Social Fund (ESF), the Fund for European Aid to the most Deprived (FEAD), the Youth Employment Initiative, and the European Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI).

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion chaired the meeting on 19 April.
