City Council Recap 04/04/2024

04/05/2024 - Leander City Council met Thursday, April 4, 2024, to review, discuss, and consider several topics, including:

  • Parkland dedication and park improvements (briefing workshop at 6 p.m.) - City staff presented information regarding amendments to Parkland Dedication, Park Improvements and Parkland Fee regulations and requirements. This was a workshop to inform City Council, which means no action was taken.
  • Water Update (Item 8) - City staff updated Council on the BCRUA raw water pipeline replacement and transitioning back to Phase 2 water conservation.
  • Vape shops (item 24) - City Council gave staff direction to move forward with appropriate zoning districts and location criteria for vape shops.
  • Public hearings (Items 19-22) - City Council held four public hearings during Thursday's meeting:
    • Zoning Case Z-23-0072 - Adopt the Tiger Mountain Planned Unit Development (PUD), 100 Mockingbird Hill. COUNCIL APPROVED.
    • Comprehensive Plan Case CPA-24-0010 and Zoning Case Z-23-0082 - Oakmont Planned Unit Development (PUD), east of CR 274 and Ronald W. Reagan Boulevard. COUNCIL APPROVED.
    • Zoning Case Z-24-0106 - Amend the Hero Way and Main Street Medical Office Planned Unit Development (PUD). COUNCIL APPROVED.
    • Subdivision Case CP-23-0021 - Adopt the Valor Schools Concept Plan and Preliminary Plat, northwest of Kauffman Loop and CR 267. COUNCIL APPROVED.
  • Recognitions- Mayor Christine DeLisle and the City Council presented eight proclamations/certificates of recognition during Thursday's meeting. [Watch video]
