Celebrate the Holiday Season with Exciting Events in Grover Beach!

As the holiday season approaches, the Grover Beach Community Services program is preparing a series of joyful and cheerful events for the whole community. Exciting events include the Holiday Parade, Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration and Holiday of Lights Decorating Competition. Residents and visitors are invited to participate in the family-friendly festivities.

"This season is truly enchanting, as it offers many opportunities for residents, families and friends to come together to celebrate," said Grover Beach Mayor Karen Bright. "Witnessing the collective spirit of the Grover Beach community serves as a heartfelt reminder of the extraordinary bonds that make our City exceptional."

The "Santa's Workshop" themed holiday parade on December 2 will kick off the celebratory season. The parade will start at 10 a.m., traversing West Grand Avenue, featuring decorated floats and performances. Following the parade, an award ceremony will take place at Ramona Garden Park featuring live music by Critical Mass. The deadline to apply to participate in the parade is November 17.

The festivities continue at the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on December 8 at 5 p.m. in Ramona Garden Park. Experience the season's joy as Mayor Bright lights the holiday tree. Attendees can enjoy hot chocolate and listen to caroling. Cal Poly students will also offer popcorn-making and various games and crafts for kids.

The City will also host its first annual Grover Beach Police Department Open House and Toy Drive on December 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. Those attending the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration can walk over to the Police Department to enjoy hot chocolate and treats, view Police Department displays and get a tour. Residents are encouraged to donate new and unopened toys for the Toy Drive for local infants, children and teenagers. Donation boxes will be at Grover Beach City Hall and the Community Center beginning November 20.

The fun will continue with the Holiday of Lights Decorating Contest. The City calls on all residents and businesses to showcase their creativity and spread holiday cheer by participating. Individuals can nominate their neighbors, themself or a favorite local business to participate in the fun. To enter a home or business, email photos and addresses to [email protected] by December 15. The Grover Beach Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission will select winners following the submission deadline.

"The joy is twofold: we're delighted to offer these events and recognize the tremendous benefit they bring in uniting our community during the holidays," shared Grover Beach City Manager Matthew Bronson. "It's a great opportunity for locals and visitors to immerse themselves in the festive spirit and create lasting connections in our City."
