Public hearing for US 20 Ramps at Illinois and Lavoie improvement project in Kane County

Residents are invited to participate in the Illinois Department of Transportation's public hearing for the preliminary engineering and environmental studies for the improvement of the US 20 ramps at Illinois Avenue and Lavoie Avenue in the City of Elgin, Kane County. The proposed project is anticipated to consist of closing the existing U.S. 20 ramps at Illinois Avenue and Lavoie Avenue and modifying the existing roadways to accommodate the ramp closures.

The public hearing will be in an open-house format, taking place at the following time and location:

Date: Thursday, April 25, 2024
Time: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL 60120

The purpose of this hearing is to inform the public about the project development process, present the preferred alternatives and obtain public input.

The exhibits and the hearing presentation are available on the project website. Exhibits will be on display and audio-visual presentations will be shown continuously during the hearing. Project team members will be present to discuss the project and answer questions.

Written comments can be submitted at the hearing, via email, mailed or submitted to the project website. Comments received by May 16, 2024, will become part of the official public hearing record.
