Greece and Germany agree on the dispatch of defence materiel to Ukraine and on its replacement by defence materiel of German manufacture

The Ministry of National Defence announces that, following prior discussions and today's meeting of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakiswith the Chancellor of Germany Mr. Olaf Scholz,it has been agreed to grant BMP-1 type Armour Fighting Vehicles of East German origin (delivered in 1994) in order to be sent to Ukraine and they will be replaced by an equal number of Marder-type Armour fighting vehicles of German manufacture.

The details will be settled by the Ministry of National Defence and Germany's Federal Ministry of Defence in the immediate time frame, for the agreement to come into effect as soon as possible.
