The cast of Rockhampton Regional Council's 20254 musical GREASE has been announced.

Heading the cast are:

Sandy - Alicia Kyriazis
Danny - Jacob Goves
Rizzo - Maddison McDonald
Kenickie - Angelo Conway
Frenchy - Francesca Higgins
Marty - Elyena Belonogoff
Doody - Justin Rodgers
Sonny - Daniel Hair
Jan - Laura Sinclair

30 more local performers make up the ensemble.

Rockhampton Regional Council Communities and Heritage spokesperson Cr Drew Wickerson congratulated the successful auditionees.

"There was a great turnout to auditions, with just under 100 people taking part, made up of a range of new faces and old hands, he said.

"It's good to see that some performers will be taking on their first lead role in a Council musical, in this production.

"I congratulate all the performers and look forward to seeing the show live on stage at the Pilbeam Theatre in March," he said.

After a script read-through in December the performers will begin rehearsals in January.

GREASE is one of the world's most loved musicals, full of unforgettable hits including Summer Nights, Greased Lightning, You're the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You and more.

After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and sweet-and-wholesome Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when Sandy arrives at Rydell high. But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love once more?

The show is directed by Amanda Hock, with Musical Director Stephanie Quinlan, Vocal Director Jacinta Delalande, Choreographer Lita Hegvold, Repetiteur Daena Walton and Costume Coordinator Sue Earle.

GREASE open on Friday 15 March and will run for a limited season. Tickets will go on sale shortly.

GREASE is a Rockhampton Regional Council production, supported by the Friends of the Theatre and CQ Today.
