Minister Zulu To Hand Over Tractor And Potato Planters To Mcva Cooperative, Tsheseng Village, Free State

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu will on Thursday, 23 May, visit and hand over a tractor and potato planters to the value of R1 147 056.90 from the National Development Agency (NDA) to MCVA Agriacomologitic Cooperative at Tsheseng Village under Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality, Free State Province.

MCVA is a registered agricultural cooperative that was established in 2013 to address issues of unemployment and rural food security at Tsheseng Village. The cooperative has used the funds from the NDA to purchase a brand-new tractor, potato planters and harvester in preparation for the new potato planting season.

The MCVA project has a huge potential to create the much-needed job opportunities for unemployed youth at Tsheseng and surrounding villages throughout the production cycle, starting from land preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, and packaging.
