Emergency Warning Centers

The City of Memphis' Emergency Warming Centers will open on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 10:00 pm until Monday, February 17, 2025, at 9:00 am.

Due to the cold temperatures, the City of Memphis, in partnership with the Hospitality Hub, will open its Emergency Warming Center this evening.

Memphis Emergency Warming Center opens during extremely cold weather, providing a place of safety and kindness for the unhoused population to shelter from dangerous conditions.

Opening Hours: Sunday 2/16/25 10:00pm to Monday 2/17/25 9:00 am

Location: To accommodate all guests, there will be TWO locations:

- Single women and families will stay at the Hospitality Hub (590 Washington Ave) and

- Single men and couples will stay at the First Baptist Church (200 East Parkway North)

Transportation: Transportation to both locations is operated by MATA, and starting at 9:30 pm, those requests can be made by calling a dedicated line, 901-297-1680.

The Warming Center is a temporary facility for those needing respite from the cold weather and is not meant to replace the services provided by a shelter. Single men seeking overnight shelter are encouraged to seek assistance from the Memphis Union Mission at 383 Poplar Ave, 901-526-8403 (IDs and COVID vaccination card/proof of negative test required; free before 11 am, $6/night 11 -7 pm), or MIFA, 901-529-4545.
