Fatal incident at Italian hydropower plant
HEIDENHEIM, GERMANY. It was with great dismay that we learned of the fatal incident at the Bargi hydropower plant of our customer Enel in Italy on April 9, in which several people lost their lives.
Among the victims is an employee of Voith Hydro near Milan, who was initially considered to be missing. Voith expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and is thinking of all those affected. Voith would also like to thank all those involved who worked tirelessly during the difficult rescue operation.
The facts are still unclear at this stage. Voith is working closely with the local authorities to support the investigation of the cause of this tragic incident in the best possible way in order to clarify the situation.
