Douglas Picha reappointment to WSU Board of Regents

Washington State University Regent Douglas Picha will continue to serve on the university's governing board after being reappointed by Gov. Jay Inslee earlier this month.

Picha joined the WSU Board of Regents in January, taking over the remaining portion of former Regent Ron Sims' term. Bringing a wealth of philanthropic experience from his three decades as president of the Seattle Children's Foundation, Picha's new term on the board ends Sept. 30, 2029.

In his reappointment letter, Inslee noted the importance of the role overseeing WSU and thanked Picha for his willingness to serve.

"With your expertise and enthusiasm, I am confident you will continue to be successful in this position," Inslee wrote.

Picha graduated from WSU in 1975, with much of his time as a student dedicated to participating on student and campus-wide committees. He was honored with the WSU Alumni Achievement Award in 2002.

The WSU Board of Regents is next scheduled to meet on the WSU Vancouver campus Nov. 16-17. More information is available on the WSU Board of Regents website.
