1. Following the outcome of the Japan-ROK Summit Meeting on May 7th, Japanese and Korean government officials continued discussions including the videoconference on May 17 regarding the schedule for the visit to Japan by a delegation of Korean experts to Japan, and agreed that the delegation, consisting of approximately 30 experts from agencies and affiliated organizations of the Government of ROK, will visit Japan from May 22 to 25. The Delegation will be headed by Yoo Gukhee, Chairperson of Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.

2. The Delegation will hold a meeting in Tokyo on May 22, and then visit TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) on May 23 and 24 to observe facilities (Measurement/confirmation facility, Transfer facility, Discharge facility, etc.) related to the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea and receive explanations from the Japanese side. Japanese Government officials will accompany the Delegation on the visit to TEPCO's FDNPS. In addition, a summary session is scheduled to take place on May 25.
[Reference] ALPS treated water is water which is processed by devices such as ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System) to ensure that the radioactive materials other than tritium surely meet the regulatory standards for safety. In addition, it is planned that ALPS treated water will then be sufficiently diluted before the discharges so that the concentrations of the radioactive materials including tritium will be far below the regulatory standards for safety.
