Ruiz Statement on Congressional Hispanic Caucus Meeting with Vice President Harris

Washington D.C. - Today, Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) led a meeting Vice President Harris and his fellow Congressional Hispanic Caucus Members (CHC) to discuss how we can address the root causes of migration from Northern Triangle countries.

Following the meeting, Dr. Ruiz issued the below statement:

'As Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), I was glad to lead a meeting with Vice President Harris today to discuss the root causes of migration from the Northern Triangle,' said Dr. Ruiz. 'The Biden-Harris Administration's professional, humane, and smart method to address the root causes of migration is the right approach to reduce the cyclical nature of mass migration. I look forward to collaborating under Vice President Harris' strong leadership to combat corruption and impunity, increase economic opportunity, reduce violence in the region, and provide humanitarian assistance for natural disasters.'
