Roberts County Fatal Crash

What: One-Vehicle Crash

Where: Near intersection of 127th Street and 458th Avenue.

14 miles northeast of Summit, S.D.

When: 11:16 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022

Driver: Male, 42, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2008 Buick Lucerne

SUMMIT, S.D. - One man died late Wednesday night in a one-vehicle crash northeast of Summit.

The name of the person involved is not being released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2008 Buick Lucerne was westbound on 127th Street when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway, went into the ditch and rolled. The 42-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota's Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
