Date Announced for Inquest into the Death of Renee Thornhill

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Ottawa Office, has announced the date for the inquest into the death of Renee Thornhill.

Ms. Thornhill, 33, died on May 21, 2018, while undergoing treatment at The Ottawa Hospital.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Ms. Thornhill's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last 10 days and hear from 15 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023. Dr. MaryBeth Bourne will be the presiding officer. Peter Napier and Suzanne Schriek will be inquest counsel.
