CABEI formalizes Beach Corridor Project to benefit more than 2.5 million Panamanians

Panama City, December 5th, 2022. - The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Bridges and Roads Infrastructures consortium formalized today the financing contract for the US$140 million Beach Corridor Project with the objective of reducing vehicular travel times and road safety for more than 50,000 Panamanians who use the Pan-American Highway, the only road that connects the capital with the interior provinces and the beach area, on a daily basis.

These resources will allow for the construction of a 4.5 kilometer viaduct, starting in the La Espiga sector, at the end of the La Chorrera highway, and culminating in the Hacienda Los Calderones area, benefiting more than 2.5 million Panamanians directly and indirectly.

"CABEI is pleased to formalize our support for this project, which is expected to improve the road infrastructure in our partner country Panama, allowing for significant savings in time and fuel for Panamanians, as well as generating greater dynamism in the economy and the logistics sector," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, participated in the formalization event, which was attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Héctor Alexander, the Minister of Public Works, Mr. Rafael Sabonge and the General Manager of Bridges and Roads Infrastructures, Mr. Ismael Barral.
