Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman reacts to European Parliament's Thursday resolution about the suspicious events related to sickness of girl students in some schools in Iran

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has reacted to the European Parliament's Thursday resolution about the suspicious events related to the sickness of girl students in some schools in the country. Kanaani said the Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously and at the highest level pursing the issue and expert teams of the Iranian health ministry are doing a field and scientific investigation. Therefore, he added, the European Parliament's move to issue a resolution and repeat baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic is surprising and regrettable.
Kanaani noted that the initial findings of the judicial officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran point to the fact that some people behind this crime have been identified and, in fact, it is the Islamic establishment that must be viewed as the plaintiff in the suspicious and inhumane case.
He said it's embarrassing that some countries are using crimes by mercenaries and agents of foreigners as a tool to distort the image of Iran and wage a propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic. The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that those countries are also employing the issue as a new subject to continue their endless enmities toward Iran.
Kanaani added, "Unfortunately, the European Parliament has turned into a platform for suspicious and extremist figures with the aim of spewing hate against the people of Iran and for the Iranophobic project."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman underlined that in the case of the schools, the highest-ranking officials of Iran have strongly condemned this inhumane act and have ordered a thorough investigation into the issue. Kanaani added that the officials have also called for finding the perpetrators of the inhumane crime and for them to face the harshest punishment.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran will pursue the events regardless of the pressures and the psychological warfare and will spare no efforts to identify the perpetrators and orchestrators of the acts and bring them to justice.
Kanaani stressed that given the recent moves by the European Parliament, it will come as no surprise if it defends the same criminals following their identification and punishment and calls for them to not be punished.
