Ambassador Armen Yedigarian participated in the opening and consecration ceremony of Armenian Kchachkar (Cross-stone) devoted to 145-th anniversary of Peyo Yavorov

On 11 March 2023 Ambassador Armen Yedigarian participated in the opening and consecration ceremony of the Armenian Khachkar (Cross-stone) in Chirpan, dedicated to the 145th birth anniversary of renowned Bulgarian poet Peyo Yavorov.

In his speech, A. Yedigarian particularly said, that being the contemporary of the Bulgarian Liberation, renowned poet had a short, tragic, but at the same time heroic life, that symbolizes historical struggles, triumphs and tragedies of Bulgarian people who were moving forward along the way of independence, sovereignity and reunion.

Ambassador Yedigarian emphasized, that being a prominent representative of Bulgarian symbolism, Peyo Yavorov embodies the centuries-old Armenian-Bulgarian friendship, cultural closeness between Armenian and Bulgarian people and the similarity of the historical destiny.

Ambassador Yedigaryan noted that P. Yavorov and his work are highly valued by the Armenian people. School No. 131 in Yerevan named after him, has become the core of the Armenian-Bulgarian friendship. The installed Khachkar sets up another lasting symbol of Armenian-Bulgarian solidarity.

Armen Yedigarian thanked the authors of the idea and those who implemented it.
