Unicaja Banco sponsors a new Farinato Race, which will be organized in Mérida this weekend, on 10 and 11 September. For this new edition of the event, the participation of athletes from various regions of Spain is expected. Most of them are from Extremadura, but also from other regions such as Andalusia, Asturias, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha or Madrid.

The Farinato Race competitions take place in extremely tough terrain with a variety of obstacles that test the skills, ability, limits and capacity for self-improvement of the participants. With this spirit and under the slogan 'There is no greater victory than beating oneself', participants will run a seven-kilometer circuit.

The course will run through the area of Bodegones Sur, between Salesianos and Plantonal de Vera, in a new circuit that has been designed with renewed obstacles, more mud and challenges for all audiences.

In addition to the competitive race, there will be sporting activities and experiences for families, children and young people, as well as duels and beginner races and the so called 'Farinatitos Race'.

The event will be streamed and there will be a giant LED screen and food trucks fair to liven up the day.

Promotion of sports

Unicaja Banco collaborates with this initiative with the will to bring all kind of sport and leisure activities closer to the general public and to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle, within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

After the Mérida Farinato Race, the circuit will take place in Madrid, in San Martín de la Vega, on 1 and 2 October and later, on 5 and 6 November, in Mairena del Aljarafe (Seville).
