Two arrested as part of EVOLVE campaign

Merseyside Police made two arrests after a warrant at a house in Huyton on Friday 26 April as part of the ongoing work of EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley to prevent serious and organised crime.

Officers from Op EVOLVE and Knowsley Local Policing executed the search warrant where large quantities of cannabis, six electric bikes, an offensive weapon and an XL Bully-type dog were seized.

A 42-year-old woman and a 17-year-old male, both from Knowsley, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug (cannabis), possession of criminal property and possession of an offensive weapon. The 17-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and public order offence relating to a previous incident.

They were taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning and have been released under investigation.

Neighbourhood Inspector Jennifer Murray, one of the officers involved in EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley which is one of Merseyside's three Clear, Hold, Build operations, said: "We know that those involved in the supply of illegal drugs bring misery to our communities.

"It is an illicit trade that is dependent on violence and intimidation and preys on the most vulnerable in our communities.

"We are determined to remove drugs, and all those involved in its creation, supply and distribution from our streets.

"Our officers and partners are committed to making this happen, but we need your help to make a lasting difference.

"We are asking our communities to come forward with information, no matter how small, so that we can build cases that put offenders behind bars for many years.

"If, for whatever reason, you do not feel comfortable speaking to police you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously. While no-one will ever know you made that report, it will help us focus our attention where it will have the biggest impact.
