University of Nebraska President Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., will announce the results of a study on the economic impact of the University of Nebraska during a press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. The press conference will take place at Hudl, 600 P. St., Suite 400.
Dr. Gold will share the final version of a comprehensive study conducted by consulting firm Tripp Umbach. The findings reveal the university's significant contribution to Nebraska's economy, workforce, and the state's ecosystem of innovation.
The University of Nebraska is a key driver of the state's economy through employment, research, workforce development, and alumni contributions. Highlights from the study include:
Paul Umbach, founder and president of Tripp Umbach, will share details from the report, including specific impacts of each of the university's campuses. Hudl chief technology officer, co-founder and University of Nebraska graduate Brian Kaiser, along with Hudl software engineer and fellow University of Nebraska graduate Sierra Futterman, will also speak at the event.
Hudl, a company founded by UNL alumni, exemplifies the university's role in fostering innovation and retaining top talent in Nebraska.
