Gerard H. O. Boakye appointed to Golden Star Wassa Board

Golden Star Resources Ltd is pleased to announce that Mr. Gerard Boakye, Group Manager, Corporate Affairs has been appointed as Non-executive Director to the Board of Golden Star Wassa Ltd.

His appointment takes effect from 5^th June 2023.

Gerard comes into the role with a wealth of experience in the extractive industry of Ghana, in the areas of Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Sustainable development. He is also on the Board of the College of Health and Allied Sciences of the University of Ghana School of Public Health. In addition, Gerard is also a board member of Golden Star Oil Palm Plantation.

Before joining Golden Star in March 2012 Gerard worked with Gold Fields Ghana Ltd and played active and vital roles in the development and implementation of activities in the areas of Sustainable Development policies and programs, environmental compliance, as well as community and stakeholder engagement. Prior to Gold Fields he worked with the Ghana Wildlife Society, where he is credited with various innovations including a 2,000-membership drive campaign. He is also credited with conservation education programs for schools and communities to create awareness of the organization and its environmental programs.
