Hammerhead Metals Recycling in Puʻunēnē will reopen Monday, April 29. The facility, located in the Central Maui Baseyard, was temporarily closed due to a fire Saturday, April 20.
"Our focus remains to prioritize the safety of our community as well as the removal of scrap metal," according to a company statement.
Starting April 29, the facility's new hours of operation will be Mondays to Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be closed Thursdays and Fridays.
The County of Maui has a contract with Hammerhead Metals for appliance and vehicle recycling.
