Henderson biology students, faculty present research at state event

Four Henderson State University biology students and their faculty mentors presented research at the annual Arkansas Academy of Science meeting April 5-6.

Students Zoie Autrey, Michael Brotherton, Lydia Serviss, and Tiffany Taylor were accompanied by Dr. Brett Serviss and Dr. Renn Tumlison for the event held at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.

The meeting featured professional scientific presentations by faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students as they delivered the results of their research to a scientific academic forum.

The five presentations by Henderson's contingent ranged from using Google Earth Street View to evaluate nesting by the Cliff Swallow, to history and distribution of the wood stork in Arkansas.

Presentations made at the meeting are submittable for possible publication in the peer-reviewed Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science.

Former Henderson student Jonathan Hardage also participated in the presentations.
