Encourage Student Character Development, PT Timah Tbk Helps Renovation of SMAN 1 Simang Teritip Mosque

WEST BANGKA -- To support the character development of students at SMAN 1 Simpang Teritip, PT Timah Tbk some time ago handed over assistance for the renovation of a prayer room.

After being renovated, the Musala became wider, so it could accommodate more students. In addition, the Musala can also be the location for commemorating Religious Holidays at Schools.

Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip Agus Risnan Jaya conveyed that they used the assistance provided by PT Timah Tbk to renovate the school, such as adding a room in front of the prayer room, building a place for ablution, painting and replacing the ceiling.

"With a total of 538 students, it is hoped that the Musala will be able to accommodate students when the school celebrates a religious holiday. So far it can only be used for prayers," he said.

Agus hopes that PT Timah will continue to support and pay attention to the world of education in Bangka Belitung.

"We hope that synergies will be established, PT Timah can continue to support education, especially SMAN 1 Simpang Teritip, to help in addition to building facilities and infrastructure as well as developing human resources as well," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of West Bangka Region IV Education Office Branch of Bangka Belitung Province Sudarni appreciated PT Timah for its support to the world of education. According to him, PT Timah has provided support for the character building of students.

"The construction of prayer rooms in schools is connected with building student character. It is truly extraordinary. This physical development will have multiple effects on student character development. This is what the Ministry inaugurated," he said.
