Governor Hogan Announces Two Judicial Appointments

Fills Vacancies in Baltimore County District Court

ANNAPOLIS, MD-Governor Larry Hogan today announced the following judicial appointments for the Baltimore County District Court:

  • Krystin Jane Richardson
  • Susan Chambers Zellweger

'The appointment of these qualified individuals to serve across our state's justice system is paramount to upholding our responsibilities to the people of Maryland and the rule of law,' said Governor Hogan. 'I have every confidence that Ms. Richardson and Ms. Zellweger will continue to be strong advocates for the law and will serve the citizens of Baltimore County and Maryland honorably.'

Krystin Richardson has served as an administrative law judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings since 2018. Prior to her appointment, she worked as a prosecutor in Baltimore County where she tried hundreds of bench trials in the District Court.

She obtained a B.A. from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

Susan Zellweger has been a public defender in Baltimore County since 1998 in both the District and Circuit courts. She previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alfred L. Brennan in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

She received her B.A. from the University of Delaware and her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
