Chandler approves 10-year facility…

April 19, 2024

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Chandler City Council recently voted to approve a 10-year facility use agreement between the city and nonprofit Live Love for use of the Oasis Community Center.

Established in 2007, the nonprofit Live Love is dedicated to building strong, caring communities by empowering neighborhood leaders and mobilizing community assets. It's currently building the Oasis, a two-acre community gathering space located in the Galveston neighborhood at 482 E. Erie St. - just north of Downtown Chandler. This new space will feature lush gardens, a learning center for teens and adults, and areas for families to cherish their cultural traditions. The first phase of the Oasis is estimated to open to the public in late 2024. Phase II of the Oasis is expected to begin construction in early 2025.

The city plans to use the Oasis for city-sponsored public service activities, including, but not limited to, educational events, recreational programs, community meetings and special events.

As part of the agreement, the city of Chandler will pay Live Love a one-time fee of $70,936.90 from the General Fund for use of the facility, which offsets impact fees owed to the city by Live Love.
