City of Rochester

News Release

(Wednesday, July 6, 2022) - The City of Rochester's Department of Recreation and Human Services is hosting its 2nd Annual Play in Nature Event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Lower Maplewood Park, 107 Bridgeview Drive.

In addition to nature based games and giveaways, kids and families will have the opportunity to learn about the upcoming Maplewood Nature Center, the Rochester Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights, and the many opportunities to get out and enjoy nature in our city! Food and beverages will be provided.

There is ample parking at 107 Bridge View Drive as well as street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We want to encourage all of Rochester's young people to get out and enjoy nature!

In relation to the development of the Maplewood Nature Center, the City adopted the Rochester Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights (COBOR), a community informed list of nature based activities that every child should have the opportunity to explore. To learn more about the COBOR visit: www.cityofrochester.gov/environmentaladvocacy.
