Matt Cammarota Joins Liberty Bank as Head of Retail Lending

A 25-year Leader in Community Banking and Retail Lending

David W. Glidden, President and CEO of Liberty Bank of Middletown, Connecticut, today announced the hiring of Matthew Cammarota as Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Lending.

Cammarota, a 25-year leader in community banking, brings to Liberty Bank a wealth of experience in consumer and mortgage lending, loan fulfillment and operations, workflow processing, customer experience and compliance.

His appointment follows another key hire made by Liberty Bank in recent months when they announced that Jeremy Miller joined the Bank as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.

Cammarota joins Liberty Bank after more than 13 years at Webster Bank where he held a number of key positions. Most recently, Cammarota served as Director of Consumer & Business Credit responsible for leading the strategic and tactical management of Webster's credit center, which oversaw all loan originations, including mortgage, consumer, home equity, small business products.

He also served as Director of Community Bank Operations, Director of Lending Application Fulfillment and directed the strategic and tactical management of Webster's Consumer Lending line of business. He started his banking career as a manager of the Retail Lending unit at Century National Bank in Washington D.C. and the Consumer Lending unit at Virginia Commerce Bank, in Arlington, VA.

In addition to his professional background, Cammarota is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt who currently serves as Chairperson of the Consumer Bankers' Association (CBA) Home Equity Committee and a Board Member, Vice Chair and volunteer with the Columbus House in New Haven.

Cammarota is based at Liberty Bank's Corporate Headquarters at 245 Long Hill Road in Middletown, Connecticut.
