The Government of Mexico notes with concern the recent decision on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes with great concern the decision of the federal court for the Southern District of Texas to declare unconstitutional the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which impacts more than 580,000 people, the vast majority of whom are Mexican.

DACA recipients have contributed significantly to the economic, social and cultural development of the United States, and they represent an invaluable link to our country. We will follow closely the progress of the case in order to keep the Dreamers and their families updated on the situation. Through our consular network in the United States, we will strengthen our consular assistance and protection for the Dreamers, through legal assistance, immigration diagnoses and possible financial support based on the needs of each case.

On behalf of the Government of Mexico, the Foreign Ministry will provide support to DACA recipients through the External Legal Advice Program (PALE), and invites them to contact their nearest Mexican consulate or the Center for Information and Assistance for Mexicans (CIAM) at (520) 623-7874 to receive official and reliable information.
