Agroforestry Entrepreneurial Skills Competition in Timor-Leste

To mark the European Year of Skills, the European Union Delegation in Timor-Leste, together with the Secretary of State of Professional Training and the National Institute of Labour Qualification, is organising an Agroforestry Entrepreneurial Skills Competition, with the participation of four training centres, from different regions in Timor-Leste.

With this competition, the EU wants to promote entrepreneurial skills linked to the sector of agro-forestry in training centres, dealing with agriculture, forestry and horticulture courses.

The initiative will support four teams, composed of four trainees and one trainer, in the development of the business plan, to mature ideas in agroforestry sector. The competition will guide the teams in the preparation and presentation of the business idea, with workshops and mentoring sessions on communication, entrepreneurship, business creation and agroforestry.

The different stages of the creation process will be promoted on social media and TV and will culminate with a TV show, where a jury will vote in the most innovative, sustainable and feasible business.
