Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.

On April 17, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul will have a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora of Equatorial Guinea Simeón Oyono Esono Angué who is on a visit to Korea.

In the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers will exchange views on ways to promote substantive cooperation including on infrastructure construction, as well as cooperation on the international stage, among others.

The meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity for the two countries to reaffirm their solidarity and to promote their friendship and cooperation ahead of the Korea-Africa Summit to take place this coming June.

Next, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Insun met with Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Juan Carlos Salazar this morning.

Vice Minister Kang asked ICAO to render support to Korea for it to continue expanding its role as the world's 8th largest aviation power.

The two sides discussed ICAO's efforts to address climate change in civil aviation, Korea's contribution in supporting capacity building in developing countries, and ICAO's cooperation in responding to North Korea's unannounced missile and satellite launches.

Lastly, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Insun will meet with the Chairman and other senior officials of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (OKTA) on April 17.

In the meeting, Vice Minister Kang will discuss with Chairman Park Jongbum, Chairman of the Board Arthur Lee and other senior officials of OKTA ways for MOFA and OKTA to work together in supporting bids of Korean companies to build presence in the United States, among others.
