Prescribed Fire Presentation Set For May 23

The Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to a presentation about prescribed fire in Nebraska, Thursday, May 23. The free event, "A Celebration of Prescribed Fire in Nebraska," is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center, 11700 SW. 100th St. in Denton. To register, visit nebraskapf.com.

The event is hosted by Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center, Lincoln Parks and Recreation and others. Attendees can sample local craft brews while meeting local experts and fellow burners, enjoy fire trivia, and tour recently burned sites at Spring Creek Prairie. Light food and snacks will be available.
