Flags Flying at Half-Staff in Honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial
President Biden has issued a proclamation in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Flags are flying at half-staff today, May 5, to honor the 89 firefighters who perished in 2023.
On this day, we remember fallen Alameda County Firefighter Sekou Turner, who lost his life on the morning of May 22, 2002, after going into cardiac arrest while responding to a medical emergency call.
