Recently, the Momoge Wetland located in Jilin province's Zhenlai county welcomed wild geese returning to the north. The flock of geese sometimes rest on the ice, sometimes take wing over the water, bringing infinite vitality and energy to this wetland.

Zhenlai county, located in the hinterland of the Songnen Plain, is one of the important channels for bird migration. Every spring and autumn, hundreds of thousands of migratory birds stop and reproduce here. As a necessary migration route for over 80 percent of the world's white cranes, Zhenlai is known as "China's hometown of white cranes" and "5 star-rated stopover site for white cranes". Here, white cranes and other migratory birds get plenty of rest and supplies to build up energy for the long journey ahead.

In addition to wild geese, other rare migratory birds such as white cranes, white-headed cranes, oriental white storks and great bustards will also flock to the Momoge Wetland. The protection and sustainable development of the wetland is of great significance for maintaining global biodiversity.

In recent years, the number of rare birds spotted in Zhenlai has increased compared to the past, reflecting the continuous improvement of the ecological environment of the Momoge Wetland. The department of forestry and grassland, the department of ecology and environment, and the Momoge National Nature Reserve Management Bureau of Zhenlai county have attached great importance to the improvement of wetland environment and the protection of migratory birds, and have taken a series of measures to ensure safe migration for birds.

It is understood that Zhenlai will continue to increase its efforts to protect the Momoge Wetland, promote the development of ecotourism and green industries, and enhance public awareness of protecting migratory birds and ecological environment through publicity, education and science popularization activities. The county will encourage more people to participate in migratory bird and ecological environment protection actions to jointly protect this beautiful wetland.
