Delegation headed by First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan was Nizhni Novgorod with official visit

By the invitation of Nizhni Novgorod Mayor Yuri Shalabaev, the delegation of Yerevan Municipality headed by the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan visited Nizhni Novgorod to take part in the events dedicated to the city's day.

During the visit Levon Hovhannisyan met with the Mayor of Nizhni Novgorod, discussed the issues related to starting the cooperation between the two cities. Yuri Shalabaev stressed that numerous directions of collaboration are possible between Yerevan and Nizhni Novgorod. "Armenian culture is one of the most ancient in the world and Yerevan marked its 2800th anniversary. Nizhni Novgorod has rich culture and traditions too. We can cooperate in various spheres - culture, education, social policy, sport, economics. I hope that in near future we will be able to sign the agreement of friendship establishment and carry on our bilateral relationship on a new level".
The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan in his turn stressed the mutual understanding and willingness to establish partnership existing between the two cities.
"We were glad to accept the invitation to participate in the celebration of Nizhni Novgorod's Day. It is a good platform to discuss the directions of possible cooperation. I am certain that besides humanitarian and cultural spheres there are perspectives to develop cooperation in social, commercial and economic fields as well as to strengthen the ties between the youth", said Levon Hovhannisyan.
The parties arranged to prepare an appropriate draft agreement to establish the cooperation in the most possible directions.
