  • At Hannover Messe 2024, state governments and companies from Mexico are seeking to attract investment in strategic and innovative sectors.
  • Hannover Messe is the world's leading industrial and trade fair. It brings together more than 130,000 people and more than 15,000 companies and exhibitors.

The Mexico Pavilion at this year's Hannover Messe industrial trade fair, a joint effort by the Foreign Ministry and the Mexican Association of Economic Development Secretaries (Amsde), was inaugurated with the attendance of eleven state governments and companies seeking to attract investment to Mexico in strategic and innovative sectors.

At the inauguration, on behalf of Foreign Secretary Alicia Bárcena, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs María Teresa Mercado Pérez reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry's commitment to promote Mexico abroad as an attractive destination for investment and business.

She emphasized that, thanks to its solid macroeconomic performance, tax incentives, strategic geographic location, supply chain development and robust export capacity, Mexico is the ideal candidate for companies interested in relocating their operations to new markets.

The undersecretary emphasized that it is not only about nearshoring, but also about building relationships based on trust, known as friendshoring, which makes Mexico a serious, solid and reliable country for foreign investment.

Hannover Messe is the world's largest industrial fair, bringing together more than 130,000 people and more than 15,000 companies and exhibitors from all over the world. Each year, it showcases technology, innovation and manufacturing companies, which represent 70 percent of the participants, helping them to find business partners.

In addition to Undersecretary Mercado, the inauguration was attended by the governors of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, and Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal; the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Economy Ministry, Othón Valverde Yáñez; Amsde President Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero; Mexico's ambassador to Germany, Francisco Quiroga Fernández; Director General of Global Economic Promotion Rodrigo Morales Castillo, and representatives of the Economy Ministries of Aguascalientes, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Sonora, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatán.
