The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office invites community members to the annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20. From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., listen to live music, eat food from a local food truck, attend free workshops, and discover dozens of sustainable-minded organizations and activities!
Kick off the day by joining a community litter clean-up led by Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC), which will take place from 9-10 a.m. before the community celebration. Volunteers should arrive at the meeting location by 8:45 a.m. A light breakfast will be available for volunteers. For more information and to register for the event, visit Flagstaff.az.gov/EarthDay.
Some of the day's main highlights include a corn dance by Yoyhoyam at 11 a.m., followed by live music by Cameron Jameson at noon and Foxy Koshka at 1 p.m. You also won't want to miss the opportunity to join free workshops throughout the day. These workshops include:
Attendees are encouraged to "move another way" to the event. Walking, riding a bike, or taking public transportation helps reduce the impacts on our world, and to help us celebrate, Mountain Line is providing free service on April 20. For more information on bus routes, download the Mountain Line app. There will also be a community bike ride and bike valet.
If you have questions about this year's event, please contact Steven Thompson at [email protected] or (928) 213-2144. To view and register for volunteer opportunities or see a full schedule of events, visit the Flagstaff.az.gov/EarthDay.
