Specialists of the SMD Air Defence from Abkhazia will perform live firing from S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in the Astrakhan region

The personnel of the anti-aircraft missile units of the Russian military base of the Southern Military District (SMD) in Abkhazia completed preparations for the exercise as part of an autonomous field exit in the Astrakhan region.

A special stage of the planned activities of the combat training of the air defence forces (AD) of the military base will be a tactical exercise with live firing from standard weapons, including anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) S-300, SAM Osa-AKM and Strela-10, portable SAM Igla.

The defeat of air targets will be carried out both from equipped positions and during stops when moving as part of columns of equipment.

The servicemen also improved their skills in taking up and masking firing positions, organizing a communication and control system, and bringing military equipment from a marching position to a combat position.

More than 1 thousand servicemen take part in the combat training of the air defence forces of the Russian military base of SMD in Abkhazia, more than 300 units of weapons and military equipment are involved.
