IPE Health Sciences Research Symposium touts students, residents, faculty

April 18, 2024

Students, residents and faculty members representing the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and the School of Osteopathic Medicine presented posters at the recent Interprofessional Education (IPE) Health Sciences Research Symposium.

Organized by the Office of Interprofessional Education with help from the IPE Research Sub-committee, the event showcased a variety of research from across the health sciences spectrum.

The event included a keynote address from Timothy McMahan King, a writer, senior fellow for clergy for a New Drug Policy, and the owner of Vagabond Strategies. He shared his unique perspective at the intersection of faith, science, drugs, and addiction while calling for an end to a culture of punishment.

Dr. K. Paige D. Brown, the director of Interprofessional Education, shared her thoughts on the occasion. "The Office of Interprofessional Education expresses heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the outstanding success of the symposium. This gathering provided a unique platform for our health sciences students, residents, and faculty to present their outstanding research. I am eagerly looking forward to future symposiums."
