Governor taps new members for GBHCW

In November, Gov. Brian Kemp appointed Amy Reeves, PA-C, and Michael J. Groover, DMD, to the Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce, filling vacancies created by former Board members Drs. Thomas Hatchett and Jeffrey Kunkes stepping down earlier this year.

Mrs. Reeves is a pediatric physician assistant with WellStar Medical Group in Kennesaw. She has held several leadership positions with the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants and was recently named the "Georgia 2020 Physician Assistant of the Year." Mrs. Reeves received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida. She and her family reside in the Marietta area.

Dr. Groover is a family dentist practicing in Savannah. He is a member of the Savannah Dental Society, St. James Catholic Church, Savannah Quarterback Club, St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, and Irish Heritage Society. He is also president of the St. James School Board in Savannah. Dr. Groover received a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He and his wife Melissa have two children and live in the Savannah area.
