Agreement with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM includes all ofTürkiye's 200+ universities
HOBOKEN, N.J. - March 21, 2023 -Wiley, one of the world's largest publishers and a global leader in scientific research and career-connected education, today announced a newthree-year open accessagreement with The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye(TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM) to begin on January1, 2023.
This agreement is the first of its kind inTürkiyeandincludes all Turkish universities, with the optionto add newly established universities with no additionalfee. Participants canread and publish inWiley's complete portfolio of nearly 2,000hybrid and gold open accessjournals. Researchers affiliated with 236 institutions across Türkiye can publishmore than 4,500 articles open accessduring the three-yearagreement.
"Wiley is accelerating the growth of open access publishing across Türkiye," said Kathryn Sharples, Vice President, Open Research, Wiley. "We are delighted to help showcase the exceptional research conducted at over 200 Turkish universities."

TÜBİTAKis committed to supporting the open science and open accessmovements, and as part of our efforts, our Open Science Policy was adopted by the TÜBİTAKBoard of Directors in 2019," said Mehmet Mirat Satoglu, TÜBİTAK ULAKBİMDirector.
"These steps help align the Turkish Research Area and the European Research Area, increasing the visibility and impact of our scientific publications. Within this framework, as other consortia and countries around the world have done, we signed our first 'read & publish'agreement at the national level with Wiley in February 2023 to cover the period of 2023-2025. We hope this agreement will contribute to the global efforts towards achieving our common Open Science goals."
Wiley has strong momentum in advancing open access partnerships, having signed more than 60 agreements around the globe. This year alone, Wiley has established many new agreements which span countries, including in Canada, Hong Kongand the Czech Republic.
