Sexual Assault suspect identified and charged, following an incident last February

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, May 23, 2024 5:46pm

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit has charged the individual in this incident.

Danny NAHIMANA RUMURI, 40, of Ottawa has been charged with:

  • Sexual assault x2
  • Harassment by threatening conduct to other person

He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

Investigators believe that there may be other incidents and are seeking further victims.

(Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit is seeking public assistance to identify a male suspect involved in a sex assault that occurred at a home on Albert Street, in the late evening of February 28th 2024.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'4" (193 cm). He was wearing a Lakers tuque, a burgundy scarf and a black parka.
