Swoop press release – Mt. Baw Baw RCP Program

Australian telco Swoop (ASX:SWP) partners with Victorian Government to upgrade internet across the state supporting regional Australians.

Leading Australian fixed wireless and wholesale infrastructure service provider Swoop (ASX:SWP) has been selected by the Victorian Government as a telecommunication partner to help roll out the massive 'Connecting Victoria' program.

The $550 million Connecting Victoria program is poised to bring significant benefits to over 130,000 businesses and households in 180 towns that are currently grappling with connectivity issues.

Swoop will offer Fixed Wireless services to bring faster and dependable internet access to three major sites, Mt Baw Baw, Moe, and Morwell. Businesses and residents in these locations will benefit from enhanced connectivity through Swoop's partnership with the Victorian Government.

As its inaugural installation for the Connecting Victoria program, Swoop will support the Mt Baw Baw community (including Tanjil Bren and Icy Creek), located two and a half hours from Victoria's capital and most renowned for its ski resort. Despite its extreme weather conditions and its remote locality, Mt Baw Baw can now benefit from fast and reliable internet, which will support economic growth and boost local, small business tourism operators.

Swoop CEO, Alex West said; "We are thrilled to collaborate with the Victorian Government as our partner to implement one of the most impactful programs in the State, bringing about positive transformations in the lives of households and businesses across regional Victoria."

"At Swoop, we are dedicated to providing reliable and robust internet connectivity to regional areas throughout Australia, and Mt Baw Baw is no different. As a significant tourism hub and thrilling skiing destination in Victoria, the new installation will greatly enhance support for a diverse range of tourists as well as remote and hybrid workers in the area."

Swoop CTO, Tom Berryman said; "Swoop has proven success in establishing strong internet connectivity in remote and regional towns across Australia including Mount Magnet in WA and Geelong (Smarter Suburb program) to implement innovative tech that bridges the digital divide."

"With enhanced digital connectivity and communication channels, the fortitude of Mt Baw Baw will be bolstered, ensuring improved responsiveness during critical situations such as peak ski season or hazardous weather conditions, which presently pose the highest risk of connectivity disruptions."

The Fixed Wireless installation has now been completed, enabling internet services of up to 70/20 Mbps from launch and enhancing connectivity in the local area. Pre-registrations are now open for residents of Mt. Baw Baw, Tanjil Bren, and Icy Creek with a special introductory offer, visit here today to learn more and register.

Swoop is one of Australia's leading internet service providers with a focus on regional Australia. It currently has more than 30,000 services, 15,500 of which are Fixed Wireless, making it one of the largest fixed wireless providers in the country.

Hear from happy customers!

"Been with Swoop Broadband for more than 2 years now. Very reliable service and never had an interruption so far. Ever since covid hit, my wife and I have been working from home having video calls most of the time and never had any issue."
"Customer service is amazing…no 20 mins hold…. they respond to email quickly."
"Swoop is hands down the best customer support that I've seen from any organisation. Called up and got onto the phone with their customer service who helped me set up my router which I had inadvertently reset. Made the process simple and a pleasure to deal with. If you are after a good local internet provider with great customer support you can not go past Swoop."
