Recently, Antu county was included in the 2024 (7th) list of key counties and regions in China for tourism development.

Located in the hinterland of Changbai Mountain, Antu is known as the "First County of Changbai Mountain". With its unique geographical location, beautiful natural scenery, long cultural history and traditional folk customs, the county has abundant tourism resources.

For many years, Antu county has adhered to the concept of promoting integrated development of culture and tourism. Taking the application for the establishment of the Jilin Antu Border Tourism Pilot Zone and the Changbai Mountain (Antu) Cultural Tourism Development Zone as an opportunity, the county has spared no effort to develop the "tourism +" model and build strong Changbai Mountain brands. At present, there are 8 4A-level scenic spots, 7 3A-level scenic spots, 7 provincial-level rural tourism operating units, 2 national-level key rural tourism villages, 4 national-level C-level homestays and 1 national-level industrial tourism demonstration site in the county, injecting strong impetus into the development of the county economy. Meanwhile, efforts have been made to continuously improve tourism infrastructure and services, promote the upgrading of scenic spots, and actively cultivate new forms and products of tourism. Various cultural tourism products such as rime drifting, Hobbit snow houses, stove-boiled tea, tourism photography, snow motorcycles and hot springs have been launched to provide tourists from all over the world with new tourism experience. Diverse festival activities and high-quality brand projects have continuously contributed to the building of a strong ecological and economic county in Changbai Mountain. Antu has been listed three times as one of the "Top 100 Counties and County-level Cities with Potential for Tourism Development in China", and has been selected as one of the "Most Beautiful Counties in China" for six consecutive years. In 2023, the county received a total of 7.67 million tourists and achieved a tourism revenue of 9.97 billion yuan.
